CNCS Weatherization Assistance Program
The Central Nebraska Community Services Weatherization Program is a great opportunity for families on a budget to save additional money by weatherizing their homes for free. Certain income criteria must be met but the evaluation and installation is free to the homeowner.
The Central Nebraska Community Services Weatherization Program provides for the installation of energy saving materials to homes to help cut fuel usage. this program helps to alleviate the ever increasing cost of heating and cooling the homes of Nebraska’s low-income residents. Eligible low-income participants include renters as well as homeowners. If your home is a rental property, the landlord must agree to the work being completed and signs a form to this effect. The program is free to both owners and renters.
Weatherization services include the following:
- Sidewall & Attic Insulation
- Infiltration Work
- Primary Door and Window Repair
- Furnace Inspection and some minor Furnace Repair
Who Qualifies
To qualify for the weatherization program and applicant must fill out a basic intake form, and must furnish proof of income for the entire household for the past 12 months from the date of the application. If you are a renter the landlord agreement must accompany the basic intake form.
